Suwannee River Area Health Education Center

Suwannee River AHEC is a non-profit organization whose mission is to recruit, train, and retain health care professionals in the rural and underserved areas.  Florida HOSA, Inc. has contracted with Suwannee River AHEC to provide State Advisor services.  The contract is now in its fouteenth year, and both organizations find the partnership mutually beneficial.  Visit the SRAHEC website for information on health careers and continuing education programs.

 


Florida Health Occupations Educators of Florida (HOEAF).

Florida HOSA and HOEAF have a partnership that is beneficial to both organizations.  While Florida HOSA is designed to meet the needs of its student members, HOEAF is an organization specifically for Health Science Educators.   A division of the Florida Association of Career and Technical Education (FACTE), HOEAF provides advocacy for Health Science Education in the State of Florida.   Florida HOSA strongly encourages all Health Occupations Teachers to join HOEAF.  Be sure to visit the HOEAF website!

Benefits of HOEAF

 m   HOEAF is the voice for Health Science instructors
         
Through the Florida Association of Career and Technical Education (FACTE),
          Health Science Education is represented in the Florida legislature.

   m   Annual Conference
         
Each year, HOEAF presents two days of break out sessions at the FACTE
          Conference.
Session topics range from DOE updates to classroom
          management, and continuing education credits are provided.  This year, the
          FACTE Conference will be held in Orlando, Florida, August 4 - 6.

          Each year, HOEAF has scholarships available for students seeking a career in
          the Health Care field.

HOEAF provides it's members with a bi-annual newsletter, which contains

Florida HOSA Foundation

The Florida HOSA Foundation, Inc. is a scholarship foundation which provides several scholarships each year to qualifying applicants who are members of HOSA. 

The Florida HOSA Foundation is governed by a Board of Trustees made up of Florida HOSA teachers, students, health care industry representatives, and Department of Education representatives.  The Foundation is endorsed by DOE, but managed by the trustees who donate their time and services.
